Am getting conflicting info from 2 different builders regarding need or not needed for building permit for small addition.....already have my casita
manifested....do I need a permit for a small 200 sq ft addition? (is it required, or not required?) If not........how would that addition get into
the tax roles and "manifested"..or not worry about that till possibility of selling and provide receipts for such addition?bajaguy - 12-13-2017 at 12:35 PM
Get the permit, avoid problems later

if it wasn't in the original construction plans, you need it. but i have seen it done
without it. problems could arise imlost - 12-13-2017 at 07:38 PM
I doubt you'll have a problem where you are located. shari - 12-13-2017 at 07:53 PM
if it is ejido land no permit is required and depending on where you are if you are in the municipality, some offices are more demanding of permits
than others.volcano - 12-14-2017 at 07:21 AM
it is a fideicomiso way out the East Cape road, half way between Cabo Pulmo and Crossroads/Vinoraama...no town, just gringo places and ranchosshari - 12-14-2017 at 08:46 AM

sounds likke it may be ejido land then in which case no permits are needed or municipal taxes.BajaBlanca - 12-14-2017 at 06:30 PM
please check your fidecomiso for notes about NOT being able to make any changes....it will save you a major headache.
getting permits is really easy in santa rosalia but I have no idea what it is like in your neck of the woods.volcano - 12-14-2017 at 07:21 PM
it was ranch land that was split up into a subdivision....way out of towns....now residential
it is a slow process taking a year currently to get permitsbajabuddha - 12-14-2017 at 09:53 PM
Just do it. As we said back in The Day, CYA... ALL THE WAY. Bob and Susan - 12-15-2017 at 05:50 AM
think about this///
would you do it in cave junction, Oregon?

actually in CJ ;lots of building happens w/o permits, especially small additions..been there, done that
am just trying to determine why a prominent builder out there said not needed, and a small timer said needed.volcano - 12-15-2017 at 08:25 AM
when I initially built...a permit was not required for really small cabins.....I seem to remember around 600 sq ft.......mine came in just a tad
larger...so it is a reasonable question to ask the actual requirementsbledito - 12-16-2017 at 06:10 PM
if no one is around and it can be done rather quickly I'd just do it. but I have been caught and had to pay later so its easier to just get the permit

finally found a good answer to my own question..in an article I had printed out 10 yrs ago from bajainsider regarding building, permits,
manifestaion.........if the addition were not permitted and manifested then it would not be able to be accounted for in overhead when selling
