Called Alaskan Airlines asked if it was ok to fly down to Cabo with cooler of meat and poultry. They said no problem if we just use gel packs to keep
cold no wet or dry ice allowed. And that there would be no problem with Mexican customs. Has anyone done this and did it work out ok.

They are right about it not being a problem. Customs will seize it....no problem.

I don't know why you would want to do that. the Sonora Beef they sell here is as good as you can get. but they will seize it at customs.

I am going to Los Barrlies and would like to avoid the trip to south costco and because I am taking the van service from the airport and would
like to go directly to Los Barriles. The Supermarket in Los Barriles meat selection was pretty weak, unless there is someplace there that you would
recommed that I shop at.

I think that the rules change often but whatever you do mark your customs form that you have it.
I was told that only smoked turkey could be brought in as I watched my 2 turkey breasts disappear but that was a while ago.
We have a Sorrianos in San Jose now which has good beef and chicken and just about anything else you might want .
Maybe you can talk your van mates into a quick trip there.

When asked what I had in my duct-taped cooler, I told them steaks....then I was asked if I had dry ice...no just regular....."Okay, have a nice day"
and off I went.... I'm not doubting what anyone has said, I just have to say I wish we knew what was what!
There has been talk here about obeying Mexican law (I'm all for that), at 50yrs. old, I've never even had a traffic ticket (hush Mike H.!) For the
"newbie" and even the "oldie" it is confusing.

Several years ago I went out to the airport at Loreto and observed a group of People coming in for the Holidays. there were 12 Turkies confiscated.
The next day they appeared on Special at the Local meat Dept..

on Beef. I am 50 miles from the "Beef Capitol of the World{Hereford Texas} I will take Sonoran Beef over any in the World. Angus is the closest.

I tried to take buffalo jerky through customs at Zihuatenejo a couple of years ago...they took it away. They said beef was OK, but buffalo, well, no,
don't think so.
Sonoran beef vs. Montana beef...I'll take the Sonoran, it's OK and for the same price I'll get three times as much. But selection in Loreto is not up
to Constitucion or La Paz.
