Oh, sad,,, Las Casitos is no more,,wonder what happened,, and how long ago?
What are recco's for accommodation here?
....not too pricey, but comfy, with hot showers.
Campground is likely out, got to get the muffler fixed. <;~]

Sorry to hear that Las Casitas is closed, I enjoyed staying there, but that was quite a while ago. Is the restaurant still open?
Last year I stayed at the Hacienda, right in the center of town. I was pleased with the room, service, and price. An added bonus was that they
allowed my dog to stay with me.
The only possible downside is that if there is a concert in the town square next door, it will be loud for a while!

I like the Mulege Inn as you enter Mulege. Excellent air conditioners and comfortable beds. I think it's about 40 dollars a night. You park in the
courtyard which is locked up at night. (There's a doorbell to ring if you need out at an ungodly hour.)

Sorry, sorry, sorry,, Casitas IS open. Glad we took another look. We drove by earlier and it seemed boarded up, and no sign,,, but indeed it's open
for both the restaurant and rooms..... now $650ps, maybe 10 but more than 5 years ago,, but nice hot water, and lovely ambience.

stayed at Hacienda for a few days end of December..not bad..street noise and the bar wasn't serving booze..(not sure why) but had fun in town.
Dinner one night at Las Casitas..still a favorite place for me.
The sign I believe was carved by Pompano Friend "Mateo"

Gailah and I peeked in at Hacienda last night, the place looked like a great 2nd choice to my favorite, Las Casitas, though I don't know how price
compares., 650ps at casitas, only a bit more than 5yrs ago.
At Casitas, they've certainly amped up all their details, with ceramics, plants,antiques, whalebones, even a fly curtain over the bed! I'd have
to say though that the bed felt rather 'inlaw'ish... good for most of one night,but by morning, you know it's time to move on.......

I read in an old Pompano post that Mateo passed quite awhile ago while living in Coyote Bay...sounded like a good guy..I also think he fixed up the El
Candil bar.

If you are talking about Mateo the fishing guide then he is still here. I think he still does some fishing trips, no longer lives down by the
airstrip at the Serenidad and not sure how to get in touch with him now..

I was talking about the bald headed gringo Mateo.
I'm sad to hear of his passing. I met him in '95 when he was staying in a trailer/ palapa right on the bay just South of the river in Mulege.
A REALLY interesting dude. While I was there in was in process of pouring a 2nd. floor concrete slab for a restaurant and or bar ?
