what are the customs laws as far as "on line" shopping ?

I think you will find you can import about the same things in the mail as you can across the border . no electronics or C.D.s etc. probably the main
exception would be no flammables. If you order from Amazon.com for example they will only ship Items that are legal. your package will be inspected
and you will need to pay the duty and fees when you pick up your package.

0 through the mail or DHL.

I believe tourists are allowed items that are expected to be taken out of Mex when they leave. Most auto crossers are considered tourists. By DHL
or other, it's importation, not temporary tourist goods.
Talking about the DVD's and CD's here.

Importing Electronics

Although I have no idea what the postal regulations are, If you are bringing across Electronics equipment on the ground, there is no problem importing
as long as you pay the duty (17-19%). In fact, computer equipment importation up to a value of $4000.00 is specifically mentioned on the back of the
import declaration.
