What is the Mexicali East border situation now going north? A couple of months ago I read that the entry points were under construction and causing
havoc.
I have sentri and would like to know the current best route. Do you approach from the west or the east? Are they allowing approaching from east
without passing entry and making U turn and getting back in line from west?
Also, it's been years since I have done the Mexicali East crossing. i seem to remember a long generic line of cars before its splits into sentri,
ready, normal lanes. Since I have sentri do I have to wait in the long line before it splits or is there a completely different sentri line?
Much thanks

As of about three weeks ago the Sentri entrance was approached from the West only. You were able to approach from the East and pass the entry for a
U-turn to get into the left hand turn lineup (two lanes at this point). After the turn to the North you are in a generic line approaching the border
for both sentri and ready lanes which split apart shortly before the gates. Normal lane is separate and approached from the East. It's a cluster and
I spent about 10 minutes doing a complete loop and two U-turns scouting out what line goes where before I committed to a line.

This morning I thought I would try to approach from the east and try to avoid the big line from the west. I did so and I easily turned right into the
Sentri lane. You just have to leave a little room for yourself to make the turn; I did it in a full size Ford truck. There was a cop there, but he was
out of the way and wasn't messing things up as has happened in the past. Surprisingly, there was only about 2-3 cars in the line from the west!!!
Unbelievable!!!
