I have been trying to make reservations for the Hotel Serenidad for about a week now, with no luck. I tried the phone #011-52-115-30530- no answer. I also tried e-mail that's on thier web site- nothing. I know there are a few Nomads from the Mulege area, could you give some help? I know the Serenidad is a little pricey, maybe there are other options? TIA.

Hi we have been having trouble with our phone service this week . they are running new lines and they keep getting them all mixed up. try again now and if it doesn't work we will try something else

We got thru Sunday morning, and made reservations for weekend of the 26th. This will be our first time in Mulege, and we are looking forward to fishing and exploring the area.

When fishing out of the Serinadad, I am assuming you will be hiring a fishing panga and guide? If so, I highly recommend Alex...Alejendro...he is one of the best (although he follows me constantly...

!) Just funnin....he will get you into the fish.

That's what I was looking for.... a recomendation for for a fishing guide. I plan to stay in the Serinadad for a couple of nights and then camp somewhere on the Bay of Concepcion with my wife and son. I've been reading the descriptions of the ride to Punta Concepcion, and I don't feel too confident in my 2-wheel drive pick-up( don't want to get stuck in the sand by myself) although it sounds just like what I am looking for. I am bringing my yacht (inflatable boat from costco) to fish around in the bay.

I hope you enjoy the Serinadad..especially the Sat. night pig roast...it's a classic event going back a lot of years. Say hi to Don.

You CAN make the drive out to Pt. Conception in a 2 wheel drive if you are careful. But there is lots of uncrowded camping within the Bay. It is always a good idea to have a handheld VHF radio with you...lots of people within earshot can help in case of an emergency. Try channels 16 - 21 - 22 in that order for best results.

Fishing in the bay is not nearly as good as outside, but it's a beautiful ride around the islands and you'll find lots of sandy beaches to roam on. Have fun and give us a hail . If Alex can't get you a fish dinner, I will.

heres 'some' of the lures I've been using lately to get yellowtail and other fish. Mirrolures are good. Fisherman and lures...so many lures, so little time. And trying to pick the best? Impossible..what works for one will necessarily work for another. It all depends on how you hold your mouth. My best advice is...never take a banana aboard a fishing boat! A lot of skippers have chucked banana-carrying fishermen overboard for bringing that bad-luck, taboo, Jonah, voo-doo, ju-ju onto a fishing boat. It is the worst bad luck a fisherman can give himself...short of running out of Pacificos.
