Not sure if this is the right place, but here it goes.
I’ve been planning to trailer my 18’ parker to both the Cortez and pacific waters around mid Baja. I have the next two weeks to go. I’ve been
getting mixed fishing and water reports for the midriff islands near San francisquito. Warm green water, few fish. I’ve been getting mixed reports
from cedros and punta Eugenia, cold water and few fish. Since my dive partner cannot change his vacation dates, I am exploring the possibility of
going to a different area.
Is it crazy to trailer a center console 18’ boat all the way to mag bay? Does anyone have a another region that they would recommend?
1. Where is it best to launch a boat to get to Theits bank?
Lopez Mateos or San Carlos?
2. What kinda of conditions and fish should I expect to find along the coast near mag bay and thetis?
3. I have hired a panguero out of San Carlos before, but it’s been years. Does anyone have an honest and reliable guide or captain that i can
contact in either town?
4. Is there anything else that I should be asking or be aware of?
Thanks

I can't answer a lot of your questions but just wanted to let you know about my experience in Punta Eugenia this week. I live in Asuncion where the
water has been cold and green for going on 3 months now. Last Sunday I loaded up and headed to Punta Eugenia for a few days and it was like I
traveled to a different world. The water was clean and warm. A full 10 to 12 degrees warmer than Asuncion, 60 miles away as the crow flies. Had a
nice pick on yellows with lots of barracuda and calico and a couple sheepshead thrown in. Some Sierra roaming around also. Had to weed through a lot
of 5 to 12 pound yellows to get a couple nicer ones but they were there.
I stayed in the Punta Eugenia area but some radio chatter indicated some good results at the islands too. Good luck.
