I am thinking of driving up the 5 for my solo return in October. It doesn't look like any other possibilities for a safe stop over except in San
Felipe. Any recommendations for a safe hotel for an old woman and her dog in San Felipe?

Kiki's Motel and RV park....north side of town on ocean....new motel across street is nicer than RV park/motel on ocean....but both are clean, safe,
and affordable. Kiki's new motel across the street is called San Borja Hotel:

I stayed earlier this year at Hotel Sky Blue before you enter the town of San Felipe. The owners don't speak English but they are very nice.
I like it better than Kiki's as Kiki's can be very noisy at night and weekends when people from Mexicali come there to escape the heat. Sky Blue has a
small refrigerator and microwave as well as cable TV and fan in the rooms. The room I stayed at Kiki's did not have a fan or
A/C and I had to use my own. You can find info on their Facebook page.

On the highway just a few miles north of San Felipe I had breakfast (excellent) at the Road Runner Restaurant (Km. 179, Playa del Oro entrance) and a
couple there praised the Hotel Sky Blue (Km. 182, north of town), and they were staying there a week while buying a home in the area.
I stayed at the Hotel Diamante (Km. 185.5) and had a noisy experience that ruined the rest I hoped to get.
