As an fyi, we paid a super panga to pick us up at Puerto Escondido. He would have taken us down and back from Loreto, but I wasn't feeling like a 45 min ride there and back that day.

Cost us about 3500 pesos for the day. Probably could get a good bit cheaper if you found a boat down that way.

Do you have any idea what Pt Escondido charges to use their launch ramp these days?

I haven't been out to Danzante in close to 40 years.

Back in May they were getting 50 cents per foot (US) to launch/retrieve.
Mooring ball was about $8 per foot on a monthly basis.

I have a 14 footer. That comes out to $7. That’s pretty reasonable assuming you only pay launching and not again when you come in.

Very nice pics. I haven't been there since 1992. I remember Pta Escondito looked abandoned at that time. There was a sunken sail boat next to where we put in our kayaks.

I agree with you that it could be worse than it is. There was a time when there was no marina. Back then there was a beautiful beach where you could wade into the bay and camp nearby. The current cement marina wiped out that precious spot forever. On the other hand a resort with golf courses and amenities would be much worse than the marina. At least it's still available to the public with opportunities to snorkel near the old pier (which is now fenced off).
