Hello, I walked across the cross boarder express and paid for a 180 visa on June 20th. I was flying to La Paz on Volaris. Now I am back in the States
but will be doing the same thing on the 8th of September.
Is my visa good for multiple entry since its well within the 180 days? Or do I have to buy a new one each time?
Thanks for you wisdom.
it's good

for multiple entries within that six month period.

When you fly to Mexico, the price of a new visa is included in your plane ticket, and I have seen no way around getting a new one.
When you fly out of Mexico, you have to turn it in, despite being multiple entry.
If you drive down or walk across, no problem, you can use your old multi-entry FMM. And don't worry about the 180 days per year only; I often do 180
days twice or even three times per year
Note that when I say "use" your old FMM nobody asks to see it.

The OP is referring to a domestic flight within Mex, the fmm
is not included in the ticket, as in an International flight.
What info you get to your answer, may hold true when you
return or may not. Fmm's issued at the border are typically
good for future entries. However you may run into an Imm officer
who doesn't share that view. The Imm regs are what the
Imm officer says they are at time of crossing
I'm going with the 'opinion'you can use your existing fmm
for a future flight out of TJ, key word opinion, worse case
they have you buy another

As said, 180 days is the period it is valid, you don't turn it in (land crossings) as you may go back to Mexico before it expires. I got a new one
last week. I was only going for 3 days but did not want the hassle of having to fight traffic to get back to the INM office to return the free 7-day
FMM. The officer last week said it is "ok" if is not returned, either. LOL... how the rules change after a year or two.
Flying over the border is a different FMM, and good for one time only. I got one of those in 2014 when I rode in a helicopter from El Cajon to
Ensenada (and beyond) for 3 days of the Trail of Missions TV show trip.
