Anyway, I am looking for the 2 part interview of Jimmy Smith by Camote, maybe 14 years ago. I thought it might be in Nomad archive, but haven't had

Yes... let me try to dig it up, I think Mike (El Camote) put it on YouTube or some other hosting site.
I just used Nomad search, typed in "Jimmy" posted by El Camote... bingo!
It was a fun day... once it stopped raining, May 2003:

Eli, good to see you on the interwebs. I only spent an hour with Don Jimmy talking story (mostly listening :-) but that was enough to help bring his
stories, I had enjoyed so much in print, to life. I have given many copies of his book to friends and family and still have my signed copy in the
family library. Hope all is well with you and that some day again we cross paths.
