Just finished reading David's fine book on the Baja missions. My memories of the mission era have been a patchwork stitched together from various
books over the years and honestly left me a bit confused with history from so many angles. David's book wraps all this into a fascinating, highly
informative, yet easy to read history of the mission era. Great for the layperson like myself but full of references and information for the hardcore
mission student as well. Thanks for all the hard work you put into writing this great book David!

How do I get in on the endorsement kick-back train?

What is the kick back?
LOL...
Thank you very much Mexitron!

It was a lot of work along with help from fellow Nomads to get it looking great and full of historic details that are fun to learn.

I also have read it and while not a Mission aficionado by any means, it was enjoyable, well written and a great way to get a feel for that time in
history.

Thank you ncampion!
That was my hope, history that is easy to absorb, in a logical order chronologically organized, globe box or back pack friendly.
The book begins with the discovery of California by the Spanish, the source of the name California, the Natives who were there before the Spanish, the
diseases that all but eliminated their numbers introduced by sailors and soldiers. How the missionaries both tried to inaccurate the Natives and how
the Spanish government officials relocated them and forced living conditions that caused the diseases to spread faster after the Jesuits were
replaced.
Photos, maps, and directions, plus GPS to all the missions assist today's travelers to find and enjoy these historic artifacts in the land that was
California first. Updated with many new photos and details in 2018. 5th printing.

A very enjoyable read with some good Baja history. I have passed it along to my children, also Baja fans.
