I've passed by the turn off to Agua Verde many times but never turned down it.
Think I might go there this trip. How is the road and how many kilometers/ miles from Mexico 1 to Agua VerdeDavid K - 10-3-2018 at 08:04 AM
The road to Agua Verde (Km. 63.5) is paved for 10 km. (6.2 mi). In 4.3 additional miles is the steep drop off the mountain to the coast at San Cosme
(sea level hot springs to the north of there, low tide access). Puerto Agua Verde is 25 miles from Hwy. 1. The road is graded. Some photos to the
drop-off are in my TRIP #6 report: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=87323AKgringo - 10-3-2018 at 09:58 AM
It is a nice drive! It is steep, and has some very narrow stretches, but you can drive it in pretty much any vehicle.
Any storm could change that condition over night with a wash out, or rock fall, but that is what adventures are all about!
I like stopping at the restaurant at the turn off, and they would know if there were any problems with the road.

Here is an unedited video of the Agua Verde road starting at highway...done several years ago while the road improvements were still underway....it's
a long video, so be patient ....but I would do it again in a heartbeat....next time will go to the end of the road....keeping that for another trip

just be advised that it takes a looooong time to get in there so make sure you have lots of light left to find a camp spot. It is gorgeous and has
lots of sandy beaches to play on. The store is at the very end of the road in the village of Agua Verde.Sweetwater - 10-4-2018 at 12:19 AM

Hwy 1 to Agua Verde was an easy ride on my KLR. The back road to Constitution is one I have never attempted so I leave it to others to describe.TMW - 10-4-2018 at 08:29 AM
Is the back road to Constitucion open now. It was washed out what a year or so ago. Great run up the mountain. 4x4abc - 10-4-2018 at 08:34 AM
the "back door" to Constitucion can be easy or tough - depending on the rain before your trip.
One of the best drives in Baja.
I usually do it in a 4x4 - but there have been occasions after hurricanes when I had to turn a round and give up 4x4abc - 10-4-2018 at 08:50 AM

I rode about half way up the mountain last year on the bike. Truck wasn't getting through, but on a bike you could ride over all the rocks. Not
super easy, but do able. We turned around since the truck couldn't follow us. This time thinking about sending the truck around the other way and
meet us in the middle of the trail.
