Baja 1000 spectating

Hi I have chased at three 1000 races. Always driving from point a,b,c ... to set up for next pit stop. This time I’ll be spectating . Where are the best spots for a high speed section and then some technical sections ?
Also looking for places to ride into while not being on much of the course to check out prerunning .

If you're talking about four-wheel spectating, you need to be mindful of daylight. They get off the line at 10:30, which means they'll run out of daylight south of San Felipe, maybe the Puertecitos neighborhood.

All the leaders will race north along the Pacific in the dark, but you also might consider camping on the beach north of Eréndira to watch the slower classes come thru in the morning (take your surfboard).

Heading east of Ensenada expect slow, goopy traffic, especially when near Ojos Negro RM35. Ditto for Highway 1.

Spectating is thirsty work.

Thanks for the info. Where would you suggest being to see top bikes racing by as the sun starts to rise?

Bikes start at 4am Friday. Assuming a 6:30am sunrise and averaging 50mph, the leaders should be around RM750 on Saturday.

What time do you think the bikes and trucks are going through Calamajue Canyon? That would seem like a great place to watch them.

They won’t be going through Calamuje Canyon. The current course map shows them staying to the north and crossing at Chapala junction heading west to the Pacific.
That being said, who knows what changes may be required after storms Rosa and Sergio get finished tearing things up.

Good Lord, I'm forced to do math. Bikes maybe 10-11am, trucks 5ish?

A few years ago, our TT hit a rock the size of a VW bug in Calamajue which caused a bit of an alignment issue. Nearby local spectators invited the drivers over for carne asada tacos, cold beers, musica, fiesta.

My earlier sunset comment was wrong -- it will be way south of San Felipe.

The good old fashioned way, go in with a big 4x4 truck towing a trailer, then drag the TT onto the trailer with a winch. All the COPS race cars have sat phones for such a (remote) emergency.

I have been places I do not believe you could get that trailer without a lot of work. That is why I asked. I think most of us know about 4x4...and yes a Toy ain'y going to hack it.

Your are correct when they ran years back. The Baja 1000 in back of San Vicente. Late afternoon with me up in house two stories I saw at a distance . My friends race truck with 3 wheels flat and one wheel broke off. His Chevy 1 ton 4X4 with truck trailer also stuck . So I drove my Dodge 4X4 over there. Unhooked the trailer dragged it backwards to flat spot. He then moved his Chev 4X4. I hooked up long chain to race truck pulled it maybe 1/6 mile . More like dragged it to spot where he could load it on trailer to get out of there. Only took 3 hours HAAAAA
