Look at these pics of fish caught the last 3 days. One the first day, a group caught tuna and YT and wahoo.

Do you have any seiners in the area Blanca? If no, I'd be happy to send some your way. We have about 8 or 10 that have taken up residence in the Asuncion area, wrapping up pretty much everything swimming offshore, and what they are leaving is extremely boat shy. Their spotter choppers look like a swarm of bees out there. A couple come into our anchorage in the evening for supplies. Each skiff load of supplies include 30% foodstuff and 70% beer, which is scary in itself.

Nice mix of fish!

That's why the fishing on the other side, like around Mulege and Punta Chivato got so bad. It'll take longer because you are open to the vast pacific, but .........Bummer.

BajaBlanca - 10-25-2018 at 04:39 PM

Les saw a seiner yesterday, it is just a matter time. Such a bummer.

shari - 10-25-2018 at 04:45 PM

the seiners...13 of em for a couple days pretty much stayed just outside the 2,5 mile border and said they were wrapping only skipjack. Most are gone today which is good although some town merchants love them as they buy beer by the ton, cigarettes and play pool!

blackwolfmt - 10-25-2018 at 05:25 PM

Too bad about the seiners, but on a good note, its whats for dinner

No they are well outside of the Yellowtail zone. In fact, they are working further down the line now. Imagine that. They must read Baja Nomads. The problem at the YT spots is Bonito. Thick with them where ever you go. Can't get your jigs past them.

BajaBlanca - 10-27-2018 at 05:39 AM

Yesterday some fishermen caught YT and yellowfin and LOST wahoo because they did not have the right set up!

We got 2 new to La Bocana guys headed out at 7 am, let's see how they do!

BajaBlanca - 10-28-2018 at 10:17 PM

So, other fishermen who have gone out continue with the yt and yellowfin and wahoo.

Our guys caught bonita bonita and more bonita!

shari - 10-29-2018 at 06:46 AM

Rossman got a beauty wahoo that he invited a bunch of us to eat last night at Loncheria Mary..lt was superb!!! Juan has been into some nice big yellowtail too...things are heating up in Asuncion finally too.

eguillermo - 12-6-2018 at 07:08 PM

Wow that looks like some great fishing!

How far out do you have to go from La Bocana to start seeing tuna and wahoo? Do they come in close?

BajaBlanca - 12-6-2018 at 07:25 PM

I don't fish myself, but Les tells me there are a number of spots for wahoo and tuna that are really close - about 15 miles normally and once in a while, only 2 miles out.
