the last few days I saw many Gringos heading south - all of them way over the speed limit
I won't give you any speech about respecting the host country or following the law
but I wanted to point out that I also saw cop cars about every 1/4 mile in position to collect their Christmas Bonus. They love speeding Gringos.

Very true! This is the time of the year when I have been pulled over for "speeding" where I wasn't even close! Last time was just south of San Felipe
