We went across June Lake in the Sierras over the weekend. Would it be cool to try to ride a bike across it?

Lakes and rivers are seasonal roads in much of Alaska! advrider - 1-29-2019 at 08:27 PM
Yep, walked and rode a snow machine just below 100 MPH, I know the ice was thick but it still freaked me out... I prefer to go around when I can. June

Years ago while in high school we went cross country skiing up in the mammoth area. Ended up sleeping on a frozen lake .... basautter - 1-30-2019 at 09:31 AM
I used to ride ice back in Michigan. You just put a couple of hundred sheet metal screws into your knobs, and get great traction on ice. Sucks on
concrete though.pappy - 1-30-2019 at 05:43 PM
