A Most Excellent Baja Book

This little beauty is short and sweet. It was written by an Italian author, Pino Cacucci in 2009. It was translated from Italian and is an absolute delight.

looks like a good read. i'll check it out. btw i like the tesla quote

StuckSucks - 3-24-2019 at 08:48 AM

Following in the footsteps of John Steinbeck, Cacucci travels through endless expanses of desert, salt mountains and rows of cacti with thorns so sharp that they can impale thirsty birds... Written with humour and heart, this is an insight into an ecosystem under threat and he describes the landscape and its inhabitants with compassion and respect.

Thanks for the link Stuck...
Thanks for the post Loratana. Does Jeannine have that book at El Caballo Blanco bookstore?

Thanks for the recommendation.

David, I bought my copy at a wonderful shop in Portland called "Zumbido".

I grabbed it the moment I saw it. It's heading down to Loreto (with me and the Puppers, of course) on the 14th of April.

Jeannine's shop has been closed for a while, I believe she has been stateside tending to medical needs. We look forward to her return.

It is probably available via Amazon.

There are a few on eBay for around $15.

Amazon has a Kindle version for $19.

She is back in Loreto as of a couple weeks ago. ncampion took some of my books south to her as she had sold recently her last copy.

I have a copy. I read it last summer. I thought something was wrong with my brain until I realized some of the pages were out of order. It was a fun read although I question some of the historical accuracy. I think some mistakes may have slipped through in the translation process, like Tijuana being east of Mexicali. :?: Tecate being the first brewery to can beer. :?: Both in the same paragraph. Still a delightful read.

Good eye!
It is always good to have others read your manuscript to spot innocent as well as dumb mistakes, like those. Nothing is 100% and nothing is more irritating than seeing a typo or other error after it has been checked dozens of times before going to print!
