I am bringing my boat to Baja for the 1st time in June I've been told I need to get a TIP for my boat can I get it at the border @ Mexicali East gate?
I've never gone that way I always use West gate.

You get a TIP at Banjercito. I believe the Bajjecito is only at the East gate in Mexicali (that's what Google maps says).
You can get a TIP online ahead of time for a car through the banjercito website. They send it to you via UPS or Fedex. It comes pretty fast. Not
sure about a boat. I always did them in person for my boat.

I don't need one for the truck in Baja just the boat I'll check out East gate
