I saw a post on Fred's board wondering if it is still open. The poster says that their website (I don't know if they ever had one) does not exist.
I doubt that place will ever close. Has anyone been there or passed through recently?

all is well at El Palomar as of 10 days ago

All systems go at super-soulful El Palomar.
Nothing like rolling in at seven a.m. for some coffee and their sublime machaca, mesquite fire crackling in the horno.
That fix will get you through to Santa Inez...just.
Bonus points for the spotless WC.
First post, longtime lurkadero.
nothing like the jake brakes and night crowing roosters at the campground

we use ear plugs
but that is far as we can make it on the first day of our trip
and last year we had the young adults blaring their Mexican rap music

Hmm.
Never camped that close to the highway.
Can vouch for 30 years of good breakfast, though.

FYI: "thumbs down" above for the brake noise and latin hip hop.
