Anyone have current info on the road and conditions North of Puertecitos and on south.

I bet it is close to the way I saw it last month... See my trip report, Racing into History with Cameron Steele.

Drove it yesterday, from SF to K40 road is good, K40 to K60 road is really rough I had to keep speed to 30 mph K60 to K75 is under construction but they are working on it, then south of Puertocitos to K125 you have the washed out bridges but I did see survey crews so I guess they are thinking about starting to fix those and then on to the dirt south of Gonzaga they are working on the road and have opened up some new paved areas, that portion of the road took me 50 minutes with a lot of newly graded areas. Over all it has improved.

some of the "Nomads" should organize a Mex 5 hike this summer. Early August will be the best time to do it.

You could interview and advise the workers and help them understand how to finish the road faster.

I drove it last month , same as above. The thing that made me shake my head was a crew that was putting in fence posts and barbed wire along the section north of cowpatty. ??? With all the pot holes and bad road WHY is the government speeding money on fence post and not on potholes??
