Been meaning to ask for a while -- I know gypsy's beach camp near san quentin is closed but I was wondering if there is anything new around there?
I miss the wet buzzard that I hear closed down many years ago and I'm hoping theres still SOMETHING around there.David K - 9-1-2019 at 08:48 PM
Gypsy's and Wet Buzzard are both old history and it is sad indeed. I enjoyed both back in the early 2000s.
Two RV parks on the beach are just south on Hwy. 1 and both called El Pabellon, one is Fidel's. Just north, next to Baja Jardines, is Los Olivos RV
park... just not near the water.

The Cielito Lindo hotel/restaurant has a small campground for tents, and inside the walls, space for RVs. There is a shower for campers. The Los
Olivos campground is a nice place for tent camping (I'd call it a campground rather than an RV park) - I'm usually the only one there when I stay.Paco Facullo - 9-2-2019 at 08:16 AM
Welcome to the forum Slumpy,
Plus one for Cieliro Lindo, they have everything you need including a fantastic "old school" bar w/ restaurant.
A great happy hour with wicked Margaritas. Their cracked crab dinner is out of this world , WOW !

Thanks for the addition of Cielito Lindo's little RV/ camp area. I stayed there in 2001, before David & Juanita built Gypsy's. That was for
Michelle's first BBBB party. http://www.vivabaja.com/van1/bajamary1952 - 9-2-2019 at 09:33 AM
I never have been impressed with any locations in that immediate vicinity. I always camp at Fidel's Pabellon which has a beautiful beach with very few
people around esp. on weekdays.Lee - 9-2-2019 at 04:18 PM
I only stay at Los Olivos because it's walking distance to Jardines and I have to eat at Jardins.
A great happy hour with wicked Margaritas.

Be very, very careful, there are many of us who thought we died and gone to heaven after a couple and the next morning wished we had.David K - 9-2-2019 at 06:17 PM

Tried to make contact with Cielito Lindo at the end of July for an overnight on our way north but the phone gave me the busy signal for a couple of
days so i gave up. Was looking forward to trying it out.wilderone - 9-4-2019 at 04:44 PM
Go anyway - I'm usually the only tent camper and there seems to be plenty of room in the RV area. If all else fails, get a room there. With the
restaurant, bar, beach and TV (football), you can't go wrong.BajaRat - 9-5-2019 at 09:19 AM
El Socorro
Just south of Los Pinos on the beach
There’s a sign, peaceful but limited

We were lucky to attend Laura's last fiesta there before she closed. They spitted two goats with carnitas, beans , rice, etc. Dave and Juanita were
there. The cost was $5 for all that you could eat and all the beer that you could drink. Best deal ever. BajaRob - 9-7-2019 at 06:41 AM
A Nomad, (DK) once camped there inside the storehouse to escape the strong winds. Funny what we remember.BajaRob - 9-7-2019 at 08:15 AM
When we went to the final fiesta, Juanita provided a free room @ Cielito Lindo. The room was scary. We got what we paid for.David K - 9-7-2019 at 08:24 AM

That was their indoor camping building... and for me, it was to escape the rain, twice! I thought it was the greatest invention ever for us tent or
open-air campers since it is so wet (or windy) there.
That was in November of 2002 (Thanksgiving weekend) with my son, and April of 2003 (Easter vacation/ Spring break) with my daughter. Raining both
times!
