Bahia de las Angeles Facebook page has a video of the Nautilus Gallant Lady, a fancy dive-boat operation in the SOC, dumping something in the water,
looks like oil?
Anyone familiar with this? I can't quite tell what has been dumped.

On TB is a post From operator stating it was pure carbon soot and they cleaned it up.
But same statement said that soot is inert material and not a contaminant.
Neither soot nor carbon black are inert. And yes, both soot and carbon discharges from combustion are contaminants.
The pics showed they deployed an oil absorbing boom, but no pics of material recovery.
Questions remain...
