Score race #4 - Lucerna 400 - Coming the weekend of the 21st - 22nd

Rumor has it the new hotel in Ensenada, Torre Lucerna, paid 100K to put their name on this new event.

The question is, is Score selling out for the money as it seems to me four races a year will dilute the
interest and participation. It isn't cheap to participate in these events and how many will want to
bankroll four rather than just the 500 and 1000?

Any thoughts on this?

4 or 5 races has been the norm....you're forgetting about the san felipe 250 and the desert challenge?

This new Baja 400 replaces the Desert Challange (Rosarito or Tijuana based). In years past, Score had one race in the U.S. and then the three in Baja. The Desert Challenge originally was in Imperial Valley and before it was the Score Parker 400 (if you go back far enough). So 4 Score races is the norm. The number of entries and racer's feedback will determine if this race has a future. When they tried running a race entirely in Baja Sur (Cabo to Loreto), that didn't do so well and it wasn't repeated. There are also races run by Mexican based organizations like Code.

People here love racing. It's in the blood. It's not all about what the gringo racers want.

NORRA - Mexican 1000 and NORRA 500" https://www.norra.com/index.php - Really the best races. For me a great chance to see some old motos - old Triumphs, old Hondas - going for it!

CODE as David mentioned above: http://codeoffroad.com.mx/

and RECORD with SIX local races: http://recordoffroad.com/

And the Baja Rally Moto: https://www.bajarallymoto.com/

And I am sure there are more I never heard of.

The smaller races are more affordable for the local people, the bigger races are often qualifiers for the super races. It's an industry here. People like my local mechanic, earn their gravy for the year from racing and then pay the monthly bills with local service.

I've caught some great out in the weeds races where I was probably the only gringo for miles - friendly smiles all around. Great people, great races. Dirt, dust, beer. What more can you ask?

It looks like CODE might have six races a year too.
