I am searching for a reasonably priced storage trailer around 16' or so for storing all the bulky equipment I have for our new whale camp.
It needs to be air tight, no leaks and in decent shape for towing out to the lagoon.
It does not need to be fancy...just secure and wont be getting towed around much...just twice a year out to the camp and back.
Anybody have or has seen one out there? Free whale tour with me to anyone who finds one for me!

There was a guy awhile back selling a hualer in San Juanico. Might try a search.shari - 10-8-2019 at 02:48 PM
having done some looking around and MMC telling me that a toy hauler has bed/kitchen etc in it, I am looking for more of an enclosed cargo trailer for
hauling the gear for my new whale camp to GN.
If anyone has time to look around for one around 16-18', I will compensate you for your time if you find me the right fit.
I figure I can afford something around 3-4 grand.
thanks Nomad peeps!bajaric - 10-17-2019 at 11:41 AM

Shari, what you also need is a copy of the SEMARNAT Whale watching regulations, that requires whale watching guides to keep a safe distance away from
the whales, and the baby whales for their protection as well as the tourists.
Although some whales look friendly in the photos, I doubt whales like stupid tourists trying to touch them.
I have full knowledge of the regulations as I wrote them 30 years ago for the fisheries fellow who came to me asking to write them up as he had no
idea of whale behavior whatsoever. This was before the Biosphere Reserve was formed.
It is one of my achievements I am very proud of. Problem is there is no enforcement.
I have seen a great deal or changes in whale behavior in the last 3 decades. They went from being afraid of pangas to tolerating them and in the last
10 years they approach us when we are stopped and push their babies up to us to teach them about boats and even leave us to babysit while they take a
nap next to the boat as we interact with the frisky youngsters. The mothers lift the babies up on their back so little humans can caress them with
their short arms. It's a whole new realm of inter-species contact now. Perhaps you need to come out with me to learn about it.

Ha! Classic reply, thank you!shari - 10-22-2019 at 09:57 AM
So no I am not lying...the man in charge of fisheries in those days was ordered to come up with whale watching regulations and he knew me and told me
that he knew absolutely nothing about whales so he asked me to write him up a list of regulations used in other places around the world and what
regulations I would deem important for the lagoons special circumstances. I did just that and imagined that the government may use some of them.
Just two weeks later the fisheries officer showed me the list of regulations passed into law and I was so very proud to see they used every one of my
recommendations and added a few of their own.
Call me what you want but I have always been very proud of my work to protect whales everywhere.
Also all whale watching vessels in Laguna OJo de Liebre must have a permit.

I concur with all of the above...of course Semarnat created the whale watching laws...but the guy who's job it was to come up with them asked me to
write em up for which I was grateful that he asked someone who knew more than he did for help.
Yes Ojo de Liebre was the first Gray Whale Refuge in 1972 and became a Biosphere Reserve in 1988 which is when I was asked to submit guidelines for
whale watching.
point is I know what the regulations are...now enforcing them is a whole other ballgame seldom played.advrider - 10-22-2019 at 07:45 PM
I might be interested in hauling something down if you have more info on the lot you would trade for? AndyP - 10-23-2019 at 09:45 AM
Sorry if I wasn't clear, I genuinely enjoyed your reply and no sarcasm was implied.

Your reply did not come across as sarcasm to me! I think Shari's defensive response was to the troll, who was subsequently deleted.Hook - 10-24-2019 at 07:09 AM
The troll returns.
Sound like anyone we have heard before, folks?Bajaboy - 10-24-2019 at 07:35 AM
Shari, good luck with the trailer. Craiglist San Diego might be a good option for ideas/prices.caj13 - 10-24-2019 at 08:12 AM
I have a 7X 12 enclosed you could have , but I think thats too small for your needs. plus it has a license/ plating issue - but it does have a
sliding window and AC installed, and is wired for power - so - not really what you are looking for - i'll look around and see if I can find
something more along the lines of what you need. bajatrailrider - 10-25-2019 at 08:39 AM
I have a 20ft 2014 cargo haul trailer but maybe out of your price range 4 grand or offer. shari - 10-26-2019 at 08:29 AM
thanks to all of you for helping out...I am looking at several options at the moment but always open to more info and possibilities.
The ones on Craigslist never seem to answer back.
