Bridges between San Felipe and Ensenada Washed Out?

ZipLine - 10-14-2019 at 03:15 PM

Or... so I was told today by someone who lives in Mulege and regularly travels between Ensenada and San Felipe on the way to Mulege. Last I knew there were very nice road improvements between Ensenada and San Felipe?

How is it? I need to make that run in a few weeks.

Was fine... He means the road between Puertecitos and Gonzaga Bay. Nine bridges were washed out in October 2018. Detours are in place so there is no problem for most vehicles.

We drove the Ensenada to San Felipe route last week. All was fine. JM

Thank you! Good to know.

David, we are in a VW Jetta - no problem on the detours?

David K - 10-16-2019 at 06:24 PM

No... VWs can't be harder than 30 ft motorhomes towing boats, right?

Gracias!

Now keep in mind, I have only been on these detours in a customized, 2019 4WD Raptor with 35" BFG Mud-Terrain T/As and Baja 1000 champion Curt LeDuc piloting.

When I took my 4WD TRD Off-Road Tacoma south of Puertecitos last, it was 2 months before the bridges washed out.

If you fall in love with Baja, be prepared for some vehicle changes coming to your garage!

That raptor is one butt-ugly car! Those silly “monster” decals, looks like the car was decorated by 14 year old boys

Why would an adult put energy drink stickers on a new $70,000 car? :?:
Why would someone drink a monster energy drink for a dose of caffeine, when for $1 more they could get a cappuccino? :light:

where do you buy the monster stickers, at a 7-11 store at 3 AM on sat morning after a Friday night in your mom’s basement getting drunk on jagermeister and Jell-O shots? lol:

These companies you see advertised are called "sponsors"... Capitalism uses advertising to create "product awareness" and "sales"... If not enough people like the product, then sales would drop and the business would either make improvements or close. This is known as the "free market". The people choose. I know these are alien concepts to some.

The sponsors or the Baja HQ mechanics add the stickers, I would think. I am sure the financial rewards for having them on his Raptors make it worth wild.

I like your thinking, David. And your tongue-in-cheek explanation of things we all should already know.

Because they get paid to?

My ex-son in law bought a 2019 Raptor and paid $115,000 for it. Loves it. Even lets my daughter barrow it when she needs a truck.
