For example if you call within the same area code in the US you only call the last 7 digits, but have to call 1 555 555 5555 if you are outside. Is
that the same in Mexico?
Do you need to call all 10 digits or are the last 7 enough if you call a cell phone in La Paz?
(612) 122-2222
Hope this makes more sense.
Call your cell phone company and ask!

it is the same in Mexico except you need an 01 in front of it if you are outside the local area.bajatorres - 3-21-2005 at 07:50 PM
If you are in LaPaz, and calling a LaPaz cell number, you dial 044-612- and then the 7 digit number.
Hope that helps you.Bruce R Leech - 3-21-2005 at 08:37 PM
I think what every one is trying to say is it all depends on where you are calling and also which cell company you are calling and calling from. if
you could give more info I'm sure the nomads will be able to help you more

I am also having problems making calls within San Felipe & to Las Vegas - last time I had no problem within SF - but I fried my phone & got a new one
& now have problems ! I am with t-Mobile - the area code in US is 702 - the area code in San Felipe is 686 - we have international calling - if
someone wants to call me from Las Vegas (702) what numbers do they need to use ?Anonymous - 3-22-2005 at 10:37 PM
Hi, For the person that has a new phone you may need to call your cell company to have them release your new phone. I just replaced my phone and the
new one would not work even though I had the international plan, Sprint told me that it did not work b/c the phone was not released. They did it over
the phone, I did not even have to go into a store. I was just down in Mainland and the phone worked fine.
For the other person, may understanding is if your cell company is in the US you dial as you are calling from the US, unfortunatly it did not seem to
work all the time. I found that 01 followed by the area code and 7 diget # work most often. I know that the MX cell phones need to dial 44 in front
of the area code to get to a cell phone, but I never found it to work. Hope this helps
