Loreto...Isla Restaurant

Cincodemayo - 3-22-2005 at 02:26 PM

Just in Loreto over the weekend and had dinner at Isla on the malecon....the Shrimp wrapped with bacon was to die for.

Cinco, if I remember correctly you were going to Loreto to check out Loreto Bay. Did you buy? What were your impressions?

Cincodemayo - 3-23-2005 at 01:18 PM

Si, Si.....Going to be awesome. ALL the people were fantastic and the people in Loreto love it. The folks who own the hotels and restaurants we visited were absolutely wonderful, receptive and love the whole project. We got the lot we wanted and the community pool will be great. The finished product is going to be like no other in Mexico with all the planning and NO high rise hotels. But hey, that's my opinion. It seems to be the widespread opinion of everyone that went down...AND 80% of the folks that went down purchased.

Community pool? Do you mean the beach club? Did you tour the house on lot #56. Is it totally finished now (bathroom and kitchen wall tiles, light fixtures, iron work, etc.) Were you able to tour any of the adjacent homes if not can you tell me if the second story walls are up and complete? Thanks

Cincodemayo - 3-23-2005 at 07:10 PM

Friend...
The Casa Warner #56 was 99% done and was beautifully done. Mucho construction happening and going strong with a third contractor on the move. The community pool in our area is planned for the 25 or so homes going in on the back 9 of the golf course. The Casa Chica seemed to be the most popular with plenty of room and the views will be awesome. The prices are due to rise 8% next month and we are already looking at a $20,000 gain...selling like hotcakes. All the amenities at the Camino Real Hotel are available for homeowners and the staff were great. The town businesses and locals are very positive about the Villages and the business it will bring.

Thanks Cinco, appreciate the update. I believe you have made a very wise and ecologically meaningful investment. Good on you.

Cinco,
Congrats on your new neighborhood in Loreto Bay. It seems to be a wonderful community....here is a recent distant photo of the project I took http://www.flickr.com/photos/loretobay/45002262/in/set-85931...

I am not a homeowner there, but certainly there is a lot of excitement and benefit it seems.

Loretobound. Thanks for making these photo's available to me. The picture of the 500th buyer certainly proves to the skeptics I guess that this isn't any "fly by night" project. And Skeets going to "flip out" with wondering where the water is going to come from to provide water to this project even more!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have any concerns with this project that your place might have water problems, since it isn't part of the Loreto Bay project????

bajajudy - 11-6-2005 at 10:00 AM

I am speechless. I had no idea that it was going to be such a high density project. Whew!

And yes Isla is a very nice restaurant with excellent food. Cute rooms available too.

Judy

I'm with you after looking at the construction photo's I didn't see any sound insulation in the common walls, it probably won't make much difference their all old people. Sharkey in another post thought the whole place would fall down in an earthquake I doubt it its typical mexican const. I personally don't believe that the Gov. would let them get by with shoddy constr.

rpleger - 11-6-2005 at 10:59 AM

Wow..............lots of units.
Build-em and they will come and buy.

backninedan - 11-7-2005 at 12:19 PM

Isla resturant and Loreto Bay .. both overpriced

bajajudy - 11-7-2005 at 01:25 PM

Dan
I only had breakfast at Isla when we were staying in one of the rooms...is it really expensive?

backninedan - 11-7-2005 at 03:34 PM

Judy, we went the other night, and there was only one price $20.00 per person. I thought this was high for what you got. The food was O K but we wont go back except to try there breakfast, which I heard was excellent and reasonable.

Cincodemayo - 11-7-2005 at 03:47 PM

Comitan....the construction is very good in ALL walls especially the common ones.

Dan...Our unit has already gone up $50,000 since we purchased it and it's just about to begin construction next month....I'd call that a good investment. All the people we've met since we purchased have been from all over the USA and are all VERY enthusiastic about the project. All the Loreto Bay trips have been first class especially the trip to Mexico City for the football game last month. Jim Grogan is an exceptional person as well as the rest of the Loreto Bay Crew. As for the dinner at Isla the bacon wrapped shrimp alone was worth $20.

Dan

The breakfast is mediocre, to say the least. The only thing I recommend is their luncheon sandwiches. Very good and reasonable. Hope they are consistant, but have my doubts.:?::?::?::?:

comitan - 11-7-2005 at 04:34 PM

Cinco

It only gone up 50,000 if you sell it and get that much more for it. Profit on paper means nothing, except to make you feel good.

Cincodemayo - 11-7-2005 at 04:52 PM

Comitan...From a rental standpoint we have an awesome spot where our casa will be. I wouldn't sell it for $100,000 more. Paper has a great way of turning into greenbacks. Just ask Bill Gates.

comitan - 11-7-2005 at 05:06 PM

Cinco

The absolute most important thing is that you are happy, there aint no mor!!!!!:bounce::bounce:

Cincodemayo - 11-7-2005 at 05:07 PM

Comitan...You got that right amigo!

backninedan - 11-7-2005 at 05:46 PM

Your right comitan, my low opinion of Loreto Bay means nothing to those that are happy with it.
