Bahia Concepcion Thanksgiving

HeyMulegeScott - 12-16-2019 at 04:42 PM

From Bay of LA, we headed back to Highway 1 under overcast skies to San Ignacio. The road was in fairly good shape with a couple of construction delays. We pulled into Don Fong campground which was described as big rig friendly by the Church's camping guide and iOverlander. It wasn't but there was only one other rig there so we paid our 100 pesos for the night and parked.

We went into town to see the mission and have dinner. Rancho Grande by the square had a nice patio but seemed a little expensive and bland.

The next day the skies cleared and we left for Bahia Concepcion. The roads were in good shape heading south and even Santa Rosalia didn't seem so bad. We decided to stay at Playa El Burro since there are a few spots between the permanent beach shacks that we were guessing wouldn't be crowded in November. The rains had left some pretty big puddles but did get a decent spot since hardly in was around. We had a day of rain and then an awesome Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving hike up to the top of the hill.

Post hike beach and beers.

200 pesos a night for this doesn't seem too bad.

Another hike around Coyote.
