TelCel while in Mexico

KasloKid - 12-18-2019 at 10:05 AM

Does anyone know how to call a USA number from Mexico, using a TelCel phone activated in Mexico?

Apparently, the way to do so has changed. Google gives me the previous method.

Enter all your contacts as +1 on every phone. It will dial properly from anywhere in the world.

Enter all your contacts as +(country code) (number).

iPhone is for women and kids who are blinded by brand and don't care about having the best tech/product. Samsung has been 18 to 24 months ahead of the iPhone on innovation since 2011.

I am an apple fan boy. Only dweeby nerds and cheap skates use android.

P.s. privacy is better on apple platform. Android is worse at pimping your digital life.

And i dont care about the latest. I always choose the free or low cost iphone (always an older model)

I can see you now, typing on your tiny, little 4s with your big fat fingers. Meanwhile, smart ppl had a nice big screen years ahead of you with a great key board.

You got taken by one of their cute ads, didn't you?

Operator?

That reminds of the early days of cell phones in Hollywood
everybody who could afford it had a phone on the coffee house table
including the face ones
they all pretended to be important people

then one day someone spread the word, that if you are really important, someone would handle your calls
within days the phones disappeared from the coffee house tables

did'nt last long enough

I'm in Tucson now and will be crossing into Nogales soon for lunch. I'm planning on changing my money, but also it will give me an opportunity to try the +1. Last year I couldn't call the states from Algodonas, but I didn't use the + before the 1, or then again it may have been that Algodonas uses Moviestar instead if Telcel. I have ATT with an International plan.

Thanks to all that contributed an answer to my original question.

My iPhone calls from anywhere on my standard contact list. Have not used +1 ever.

PaulW - 12-19-2019 at 10:09 AM

Apple has it figured out.

 I never knew you actually entered the "+" sign, I just thought it meant to add a number......good thing I never needed to call anyone up there!

AKgringo - 12-19-2019 at 01:42 PM

With my ATT Gophone, I always entered 01 before the ten digit US number. Lucky for me that + is the same key as 0 :D
