College scholarship recipient Lizeth wrote me to say that she had been honored in front of the whole school for having such a high GPA her first
semester in college! She is majoring in business management at the TEC in Santa Rosalia. Her GPA was 93%.
I am so proud of her, I feel so lucky to be part of the miracle of changing someone's life forever and I am humbled and grateful that all of you help
me with all my dreams for these so deserving, so underprivileged kids!
Lizeth is the student right in the middle with the dark jacket.

Here is a picture of her on campus the first week at college.
Here is a photo of Lizeth this past Christmas when she got the laptop that bajanomad PaulDavidMena donated! Thanks so much for that one and for his
wife's used one he just sent while we were in California.

We have been very busy organizing the clothes that Punta Chivato donated after their January rummage sale. My Mom is here and she and I are working
together. I find that we are short on smalls and mediums for the guys - dress shirts, shorts and pants. If any of you have teenage/young adult kids
or grandkids, it would be great to get some. If you aren't coming all the way to La Bocana, Concha at the restaurant right on the corner of the exit
to Punta Abreojos on highway 1 keeps anything dropped off and sends it on the same day with whomever is coming here that she knows. Simply write
BLANCA on the box or backpack.
Two students are graduating this March - the system here is that they finish classes and start working, graduation ceremony comes 3 months or more
afterwards. Alen and Ramiro will be having a ceremony and I am really excited to be there!
Photo of Alen when he was my student in high school here in La Bocana (he is from Abreojos). He is now working at the company he interned with.

Photo of Ramiro who is from the Laguna de San Ignacio, also when he was a high school senior. His uncle got him a job at a packaging company in TJ.

Both of them went to the States last summer. We sponsored their Mexican passports, their visas and Alen stayed with a friend of a bajanomad Al and my
good friend Lindsay (Al, you were the best at helping me!) and bajanomad Carl took in Ramiro and showed him the trip of a lifetime with snow and
then he went on to stay with our friends/sponsors Dave and Patty who took him to San Francisco and lastly, he stayed with his own sponsors who lived
in Paradise...which later caught fire and they lost their home. Seems eons ago now. They rebuilt and all is good.
While I was in San Diego, I met a manager for Jack in the Box who had 2 pallets of brand new discontinued company tshirts that she needed to donate.
I got 4 boxes for the Christmas presents for the "kids" and called my friend Angela who works with homeless teens in San Diego and she was able to get
ONE WHOLE PALLET! I have also contacted Mike to see if he can get lots of them for the grandpa's.
Oh Happy Day!
