David K - 4-4-2020 at 09:09 AM

San Diego, California

The usual hours or lanes of some selected ports of entry along the California-Mexico border will be modified as part of actions to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to the decrease in users, after travel was restricted. not essential. These changes will take effect from Sunday , April 5, 2020.

It should be noted that the modifications will be at the ports of entry that process passenger traffic, so changes in the commercial sentry boxes were ruled out .

The number of pedestrian or vehicle lanes may decrease in order to maintain operational control of travelers seeking to enter the United States.

San Ysidro:

· It will remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the processing of vehicles and pedestrians heading north and south.

· All pedestrian processing, both north and south, will now take place at the east pedestrian facility (the original crosswalk area in San Ysidro)

· Until further notice, the Pedwest sentry box will be closed.

Wow....
2 p.m. at Tecate is a real puzzler
Of course we will not be heading down for some time so I guess it won't affect us, but sure is interesting
That just means more folks streaking down the Cuota for Otay and SY

Or Americans streaking up the Cuota for lack of beer/alcohol.

David K,
Will you be so kind as to post a link to the page with that info?
Unable to find it in the labyrinth of US Government websites. I'd like to keep up with any updates. Thanks.

Where is "Andrade" port of entry?

David K - 4-4-2020 at 05:49 PM

Almost to Yuma... California side of the Colorado River... across from Algodones, B.C.

Yup, Andrade is a place - but not a town. AFAIK, the only thing there is a parking lot (not free!) owned and operated by the Fort Yuma Quechan Indian Tribe and a defunct RV park.
