The Bare-Toed Vaquero book

Anyone ever read this book? Any good?

The Bare-Toed Vaquero

I just read Grahm's kindle version of "In a desert place and am almost done with "Marooned with very little beer", and this came up in my feed.

Thought it was a little pricey for a Kindle so thought Id ask here to see if anyone has read and recommends. Thanks.

Never heard of it, so thanks!
In looking at the first pages, I see that the author recognizes Harry Crosby's research and work in the book, Last of the Californios. Trudi Angell is also mentioned... She was a recent guest on the Slow Baja podcast.
Sadly, the mission history is a bit off in his describing Rancho Viejo (the first site of Mission San Javier). It was founded in 1699, not 1697, and the mission moved after ten years, not two. Just details, I know... but I bet it is a worthy book based on the subject.
