In its 8 a.m. ET update, the NHC said that Genevieve "rapidly intensified" to a Category 4 hurricane less than 24 hours after reaching
hurricane-strength.

Tracking West -surf should be up and at this time Hurricane Center reports minimal impact to BCS. I like it that way..... :SFandH - 8-18-2020 at 07:37 AM
Hope BCS gets some great waves and a good rain soaking with minimal damage/problems.BigBearRider - 8-18-2020 at 06:48 PM
Usually, these things have a more right-turning trajectory. We will see if this projection is accurate. I’m in Cabo. Skully - 8-19-2020 at 04:46 AM

windy.com is my favorite weather site. Incredible number of viewing options and great graphics. jamiec - 8-19-2020 at 01:44 PM
Surf pumping in Cabo right now. 25-30 feet but looking very stormy. CaboHenry - 8-19-2020 at 06:53 PM
Hi there BigBearRider. You're likely in for some heavy weather this week. Thanks in advance for any updates you can report of conditions on the ground
in Cabo area. We're never there during peak summer months but always a little concerned when hurricanes scoot by. Stay safe and keep us posted if you
can.BajaBlanca - 8-19-2020 at 07:09 PM
La Bocana is getting calls from surfers who are coming to ride the waves!
Today, so many clouds, about 5 min of sprinkles (can we even classify that as rain????) and yesterday an incredible lightning show south of us and
then north. Just a little bit of thunder, rumbling from afar.
I sure hope Genevieve does not show up here!

It wasn’t that bad most of the day. It looked like people stayed home in the afternoon. Windy and rainy most of the day, increasing in intensity the
last couple of hours. Now, it blows pretty good. SFandH - 8-20-2020 at 12:22 PM
Freaky Friday with the SE storm wind blowing sand & spray about 30-35 knots with higher gusts I'd guess here in sunny Asuncion. The bay side is an
angry mess and we are approaching high tide...time for a storm cruise to the Hawaii side.
This is the worst of it most likely.
Wouldnt ya know I have the fish all ready on the trays for the smoker...uh not gonna happen right now! Hope it calms down a bit after the tide change.David K - 8-23-2020 at 08:10 AM
Updates please... ???pauldavidmena - 8-23-2020 at 08:24 AM
I'll let people who were there chime in with more details, but in the Todos Santos Newsfeed FB group, I've read descriptions ranging from some
well-needed rain to a "nothing burger". On a more serious note, in Cabo San Lucas, a 15 year-old girl drowned in dangerous surf on Medano Beach, as
did the 33 year-old lifeguard who tried to rescue her.shari - 8-23-2020 at 12:38 PM
Here are some photos of the nothing burger here in Bahia Asuncion...no rain, about 35 knots of wind and only about an 8' swell with not much power
behind it. The kids had fun surfing in town but disappointed with the swell.
The only thing that the storm messed up was our hair...jajaja!
