My Facebook account has disappeared!

This afternoon I went to check facebook and a screen came up saying I have been blocked...no reason given. There was a screen that said they wanted to confirm my identity and I had to video my face turning right, then left, right and left and up and down! Then I had to take a picture of my ID and the screen said it may take awhile to verify my identity...soooo weird.

I dont post gross stuff, except dead pinnipeds, dont swear hardly ever, dont do politics so have no idea why I was blocked.
Has this happened to others??

Shari, I'm no FB expert, buy you should do a search and verify that FB is doing this to users. Or contact FB directly (is that even possible? :?: )

I am worried that it could be a phishing attempt or some other hacking.

I'm thinking the same. Best to be careful with ID info.

I was concerned about that too....but this is what comes up when I try to connect to FAcebook to try to get more info....

How bizarre is right. I do know 2 people who were blocked, it is temporary and usually happens when there is a complaint - radical political views, certainly NOT your case at all, which makes it all the more bizarre.

It seems rather a coincidence that someone reported my profile as fake on FAcebook on the same day someone is smearing me here and calling me fake ...cyber hit? hmmmmm

It has been interesting and revealing disappearing from FAcebook and Messenger as well. Many friends have stopped in personally to ask what's up and others have called wondering why I unfriended them...haha. It is refreshing to know that people noticed my absence & care enough to check in to see that I am OK...thank you amigos!

I had a thought that may be helpful. I ask my friends to please post on their wall that I have been blocked for a reason unknown to me but I hope to be back posting pics of having fun soon!

It may have something to do with identity verification..perhaps someone has reported me....(falsely as I use my own name) but Facebook has to verify it. JJJ said it wasnt him! Some have told me it's for a week although FAcebook says it is backlogged due to Covid and so a resolution could take some time.

So please let my other friends who arent here on Nomad know I am OK and hope to be back soon with fishing reports..haha...gracias

In the meantime some photos from the last few days of ocean fun, my grandson with his dogs & sunset...proof I'm alive!

thanks...thats good to know but nobody can get a hold of me to make reservations through the site on Messenger.....sheesh....as if things arent tough enough right now as it is!

When I click the Contact Us button, it takes me to bahiaasuncion.com where your phone number and email is listed.

I'm baaaaack! I guess my identity has been verified on FAcebook so I have been reinstated to the land of the living there. I created a reincarnated version which I quite liked but will be using my original Shari Bondy account on a daily basis. But my I will keep my new account in case it happens again.

Friends have told me it's happened to them several times now....sheesh. Seems to be a targeted attack by some wretched soul on many of us.
