OK Baja ****hs, where do you thnik it is. I'm thinking somewhere betwen Bahia San Carlos and Puerto Canoas. Big headland, cold water, cold off/side
shore winds, improved dirt road access to the general area, a cardon or two, fish camp near by, Catavina boulder on the way to(may be red herring).

Baja Sur--the Canoas area scenery is in there to throw you off...check out the mangroves where the jet skis are taking off.....

The vegetation, tidal issues & fish camp are all consistent with the large camp along the low road from San Ignacio Lagoon to San Juanico.
It could easily be somewhere North of there however - and that large rocky headland I can't place.

I'm sure that this was meant to be an unsolvable puzzle and bet there's quite a bit of misdirection regarding the location of these waves (considering
the author and photographer of the article). This knowledge hasn't kept me from trying to figure out the location anyway!
It's encouraging to know there's places like this still out there. What beautiful waves and hopefully the extreme elements and logistics will allow it
to stay that way.

Oh man...this goes against everything I have ever said about surf spots in baja, but I just can't f%*&^%&^ing resist!!!
I agree with Bajanomad, but I think its more north.....
I've seen that church-thing before.....hmmm..now where was that....
and if you ever get a chnace to sail the baja coast, do it. The amount of surf spots you come across is amazing.

I too hope this spot stays remote and difficult to access. That should keep it to the truely committed. It's just the darned curiosity thing that has
me going. The launch site just doesn't fit with the big headland and steep mountainsides that come all the way down to the water's edge. The shots of
the guys surfing look like they are in Baja norte and the shots of the guys on the beach look more southish. The word will get out some day, but as
far as I am concerned, the mystery can endure.
BTW Sculpin, I have sailed the pacific side and got a nice surf in at Punta Hughes. We were heading north however, and that is simply against nature.
Not an easy trip in a 36 foot sailboat.

That's right, El Jefe. There are several navigations that will test any boat, and the beat northward from Cabo can be pure hell. I hope you got to
enjoy the ride in the opposite direction. It can be equally challenging, but much, much faster!
As for Hughes, it kinda reminds me of Lunada Bay....deep and ledgy.
As far as Collins deception goes, I wouldn't put it past him to have the guys wear wetsuits just to throw people off. What about the cliffs north of
Pastora?

Todos Santos!

Isla Cedros has headlands like that...but in keeping with the B. Sur theme I'd venture to guess Isla Santa Margarita....that would check out with the
mangroves. but that's only a guess....never been there.

Don't think the telephone is a Telnor phone - Must be TelMex so would be somewhere in Sur
