My best buddy is seriously considering buying an F-31 trimaran, and since I will have to go with him at times, I told him I would find out what the
best time of year to sail from, say, San Felipe to La Paz would be. We have the option to put the folding boat on a trailer and tow it home, or sail
back north a piece first.
Fishing in not a priority. We want fair winds, warmish waters and cool places to beach the tri.
I've always felt that the best boat in the world in your pal's boat.

I think the best month would be june, the water would be warm daytime winds light from the north night winds from the south. Many places to anchor for
a boat like that, along the way.

Sailing Weather

My favorite sailing weather in Spring, before my back gave out, was April into May. Warm weather, good wind. Water is still a little cool, but a lot
warmer than the Pacific.
The problem with June is the winds can be erratic, sometimes just fading away to nothing.
I was once about three miles offshore in June when the wind died to zero and never came back. It was a long paddle in.
Of course, with an F27 you've got auxiliary power so it's no big deal.
