The dental work I started in February left a lingering problem, and my dentist in La Paz recommended that I return to take care of it, if I could do
so safely.
Between appointments, my dog and I isolate as much as possible, and there is nothing like a remote beach. She loves nothing better than to run
berserk on wet sand, dig holes, and chase waves!
We headed north on the road to San Juan de la Costa, and about km13 there was an access road to a beach. I drove out to the beach (but not on it) and
we spent a good afternoon, and had the place all to ourselves!
I would never have known that beach was there, except for a sign posted out on the main road. The place is called "PLAYA CERRADA!". There was some
other wording on the sign, but mi Española no es muy bueno!

Check out the beaches West of Tecolote. Rarely anyone out there. Very good beaches and a little offloading.

In 2002 we found a nice beach with a few palm trees east of LaPaz after a drive through about 20 miles of the LaPaz city dump. It was just before the
old fishing resort of Los Cruces, a very exclusive place that has been owned by the President of Mexico as well as several famous people. From there
we explored roads and beaches on the east side of the LaPaz pennisula.

Lengua didn't know that road, so assumed north meant towards Balandra.
I added a map that shows both San Juan de la Costa and Balandra.
I hope that Lengua has an idea now... "Playa Cerrado" ( ) is between Km. 4 (El
Mogote) and Km. 23 (Califin).

I never thought I would be taken seriously. Sometimes my humor is a bit too dry!
Everything was true about my search for a beach, but I did not drive down the road to "Playa Cerrada" (beach closed). The sign, and access road are
there, and the sign could be read from the main road at highway speeds.
I am sure that it was an environmental concern, not a covid19 thing, but I did not go check it out.
The beach I found was using IFA (I follow arroyos), and the dog and I did have a very private beach session. I was even forced to air down to get
back out of there. No beaches, critters or vegetation were harmed!

Playa Cerrada update

I went back to the closed beach access road today to check out the sign. It is actually a banner wired to the fence, and appears to have been there a
while.
It was not an environmental closure like I thought but was indeed about Covid19! Ironically, when I followed the road it dead ends at a ranch, with
no apparent beach access!
At another road near km10, I was able to drive a couple of miles straight to a bluff with fairly good foot access to the beach. There were three
Mexican families spread across about a quarter mile.
