As a long time developer and home builder I can certainly opine on this topic
40 years ago when I got into the framing biz all of our crew were Okies and rednecks, and the transistor radios on the job played C/W non stop.
Today our brown brethren dominate in the subdivisions, and the music is Ranchero and the lunch fare is tacos and burritos.
And the quality of the house we build today is at least, and in most cases better than the one of 40 years ago.

I retired in 2007, but for quite a few years before that, it was very common to be working alongside sub-contractors with perhaps only the foreman was
bi-lingual.
By the way, that was in Anchorage!

We always have four basic rules on job site
1. No girl friends
2. No music
3. No campfires
4. No dogs
With the rednecks, all of the above were great opportunities for pushing, shoving and even some uppercuts.
The Brown Brothers generally only break rule#2, and since they all love Ranchero (now there is a crass generalization, but true) the others issues are
not a problem.
