I have been spending a lot of time planting and re/organizing my Garden during the pandemic, or pandemonium, as my Mom says.
Some plants are flowering and this one is the MOST beautiful!
Here is the flower from my algodon or cotton tree. Starts out orange, turns yellow and quickly falls off.
Here are the flowers on a plant that grows like weed in my garden, I do not know what it is called.
I have a birdcage to be used for a plant but a bird decided otherwise.
Here is a tiny flower on a tree that was given to me about 8 inches tall that has grown into a full sized tree, quite wide, and this is the one and
only flower on it!
This is the damage done by the awful, horrid, cruel gophers.
And to end on a high note: my baby toes flowered for the 1st time too!

We do have hummingbirds but every time I go to take a pic of them, they fly away!

i think that algodón is a bit uncommon. normally they start off blood red rather than orange. they are great trees. easy to propagate from a
branch.
i had a beauty. it offered excellent shade. so nice was the shade that a local worker [ who has an english nickname...ready? ....F........Y.....yup

Fyi, there is an app called plantsnap where you can upload a photo and it will tell you what plant it is.
Are you sure that's gopher damage? It looks a lot like what the Agave Snout Weevil does. Burrows into the root, climbs up tbrough the center of the
plant, and the top of the plant falls off and you see a big hole underneath.

They have eaten many different types of plants, not just the agaves. I am pretty sure it is the gophers, but I really do not know.

Those trees with the hammock are so big and shady! Ours is small still, no real shade.
