Working remotely in Baja

HeyMulegeScott - 1-22-2021 at 09:23 AM

Anyone do remote work from Baja? I interviewed four people for this article and was surprised by the kind of work you can do online these days -

Work remote 95% of the time. 75% at home, 25% traveling.

Have done many Zoom meetings from Baja.

The chances that I would find myself working while in Baja, are very remote!

Are you getting Starlink as soon as a mobile solution is available?

I remember years ago we happened across a couple of guys in the Sanfranciscito area who were spear fishing from the shore. They had a nice little sat uplink set up and were cracking up because as far as their boss was concerned the VPN showed them back in the office in NorCal.

Great article.

Good to hear that working remotely is doable in Mulege.

It would be tough to focus on work in Baja though.

Thanks. Office Space is a classic. It can be tough to focus. My friends wrote this article about holding down full-time jobs will traveling through Baja last year so it can be done. http://rvoutlawz.com/netflix-and-baja/

I work remotely 100% of the time from here and before, from a SE Asian country. Easy to do. But easy to do from most anywhere in the world these days. It just depends on your demands on the system. What I need to do does not require much in the way of broadband. If you keep it simple, anywhere/everywhere works fine.

It's not hard to get used to. Once you work basically "on the web" - that's what you do. It's not difficult. It's just like any other "knowledge" work where you work online. You can do it from most anywhere in the world.

Nice story. Well done!
