The whale watching is on at the moment but I think you have to wait until March to see what the status is. It changes quite often due to the virus.

Hopefully we will all be able to travel somewhat safely depending on the vaccine roll-out.

In my case, San Diego County.

My medical provider says it will start vaccinating Feb !. It will be tight time-wise.

To go through a year without this extraordinary nature-gifted experience would be disappointing, but, the overall safety factor needs to be observed.

Shari is asking any of her clients to bring a very recent, as in 3 day prior document proving they are virus free.

I plan to have a vaccine certification before I go anywhere.

We all owe our treasured neighbors to the south at least this much before crossing the border.

Peace, love, and fish tacos.

All companies are up and running with restrictions. At the moment we are held to 40% occupancy and 2 to a bench in the pangas.
There is strict protocol to follow like temperatures taken, masks required and social distancing. All the restaurants are open with tables far from each other so Guerrero Negro is taking Covid very seriously. This weekend there were no alcohol sales after 100 on Friday till Monday.

Our first Whale Magic tour was a memorable one as we saw dozens of whales and hung out for a long time with a curious calf who was opening it's mouth all the time. Turns out she has a severe gum condition and lots of whale lice all around her mouth poor thing...must itch like crazy.

She was squirting water out her mouth to help the discomfort. But she was frisky and seemed strong and playful so she must be nursing OK. Oddly the mother slept the entire time.

Great info Shari. Sounds like you are doing a great job of staying open, while staying safe. Congrats..

Grey Whales numbers down 25% in last 5 years

Not sure why, may be natural population swings, similar to what was seen in early 2000.
