We are in San Diego!

I got an email from my doctor yesterday that I was good to go for the covid vaccine too, this Thursday the 4th! So, we quickly packed, drove all day today, and here we are in our lovely airbnb cottage, right on the beach in Ocean Beach!

The drive down was quite relaxing going from 1 to 5, thru San Felipe and eventually hitting the 8 west. However, it would be an awful trip at night since there are quite a few rockslides and some of those rocks are BIG.

Our biggest problem was finding the right lane to go thru the border and we ended up getting chewed out by the Sentri folks. If you make the mistake three times, the fine if 5 whopping thousand dollars! Maybe someone can explain what to do because we actually went around twice and still ended up in the sentri lane.

Some photos of the day.

The one and only other time I have been to San Felipe, was 1980! It was so tiny then. Huge now. The beach looks exactly the same.

Just the evening before, Pablo from Abreojos had mentioned a neat store with vases etc and we stopped in for a look around. Everything is beautiful but kind of expensive.

and here we are in the cutest cottage, tomorrow we get vaccinated and visit with my MOM!!! and with Les's son and grandkids!!

This is where we got food to go tonight!!

I have a hard time finding clay pots that last more than a couple of years when the plants are watered. I'm not a big fan of the brightly colored ones. If anyone know of a place with quality clay pots in Baja I would like to know.

Two thumbs up for the In-n-out.

like red brick, there are several variables that can determine how long a clay pot lasts. you are correct, most don't last long....some do. for me the question is how can you look at a clay container and know?

Blanca, If you crossed at the East crossing, I have found it a little confusing finding the right lane. First time we did it were approaching from the East, & seeing how the lanes line up with the signs is hard. I think it is better to come in from the West as it is much easier. In our case we were trying to get In the sentry lane.

If you have some extra time and want to head about 20 minutes east, we're off of Hwy 94 near Jamul. You can see the girls riding their motorcycles on our track. :)

Let me know!
