I buy one-day liability-only policies from my regular insurance provider. I don't like having only liability, but I've not found 1-2-7 day policies with comprehensive coverage. Happy to hear if others have. Please share info!

Even with the liability you have to review it and up coverage. The original policy was so poor that if you rear-end a Mercedes or something nice, you're in trouble. And any injury more than a sprained finger and you in super deep chit.

if you're only looking to be legal while driving in california National Unity for daily/weekly u.s. insurance. they do have an awful reputation so beware, and good luck:D

I buy it from my local mexican broker

thanks, contacted them. 3 days insurance is a whopping $18!
they my not pay a claim, but ill have some sort of document to present if requested.

I buy HD Seguros through my regular agent. $9 first day then much cheaper day by day. My understanding is that it is useful to have a good agent batting for you when/if you need help.

ill check that out. i had a claim with hd seguros.. I couldn't be happier with how they paid.
baja bound told me they don't offer NOB policies.

I use HD Seguros for my Baja regular insurance (never had a claim, so I don't know how they do, but my agent has an excellent reputation) AND for NOB.

I got a quote from seguro gringo and it was 3 times the cost of national unity.....but probably 3 times better insurance too!
