Today's Spanish word of the Day from Transparent Language is "quarrel", which they translate as "reñir", a word I've never seen before. Both Google
Translate and SpanishDict use the more familiar "pelea". What word is used most commonly in Mexico? And please - no quarreling.

some folks get passionate about their fighting chickens. a lot of money changes hands. little wonder that violence can result.

Reñir can mean quarrel, and can also mean scold or "tell off."
