My problem is the vet only will give me a 30 day cert, on each dog at 50 bucks per dog. This is 1200 a year if I take them every time I go. Since we
have a free place to stay we go often. Living with in a hour an half of the border helps. Thanks to all the wonderful post I now will get one in Baja
for each dog. Its nuts when the vet has all the shot records and knows they are healthy and charges 50 per mth. every mth he wants to listen to thier
hearts and so on. They get heartworm test and all the stuff to keep them well and happy campers. LOL I mash Mex papaya in there food daily and they
get herbs and vits. for well being. Spoiled as they can be with love. I just am upset over the charge of our new vet.!!!:moon:
health certificates

Health certificates for pets going across Mexican or Canadian border by law is good for 30 days. We veterinarians have no control over this. To
legally fill out a health certificate, we have to examine the animal. If we don't, our license to practice will be in jeopardy. It may be simple to do
an exam and fill out the paperwork, but you are paying for our time, whether it is for a simple exam or for diagnosing a health problem.
I am a relief veterinarian, and work in many clinics. Charges for exams and health certificates will vary. Sometimes I think fees are high on
occasion, but I'm not paying the staff, or running the practice. If you have pets and travel, Health Certificates are just one of the hassles you'll
have to deal with.

We fly with our cat all the time into San Jose del Cabo. We have always gotten a "Certificate of Health" as required by MX and a copy of the rabies
update. We have NEVER been asked to see anything regarding our cat. However! Boy, would we be sad if we had to leave her somewhere because we
didn't have the proper paperwork! Our "C of H" was only good for 30 days. I would be interested to know where WHISTLER received one that was good
for 6 months.?? Each time we obtain a "C of H" it is $40 from our vet in the States.
