Wow :o:o

I wonder how that will develop....must have been a shocker when it began to bubble.

I see as well in other SR news that the mine's request for expansion was denied recently.

I wonder if any seismic activity has been noticed/recorded that will unsettle the area's fissures.

It also mentions new fumaroles rising out of the ground in the Tres Virgins area.

Fake news for the gullible!

Interesting, I thought it odd that this was the only report.

Wait maybe the govt is trying to cover it up because whatever?

Do we really let the facts ruin a good story?

Lest we forget the time when there were multitudes of earthquakes

happening in Asuncion quite a few years ago. When i was there I was

standing on the point by the launch area when I heard a very loud report

that sounded like an explosion . I asked our pangero if they we

dynamiting or if the military was shooting something off. It was soon

after that that a large swarm of earth quakes hit the area. Even

scientist from La Paz came down to investigate the phenomenon.

I do not know what the investigation figured out about the seismic

activity. Shari would you know?

The metadata of that image says

Pretty irresponsible/misleading reporting, if you ask me.

True or false, not the point. I am driving from CSL to Mulege very often.
On my way I always can see thick chunks lying next to or even on the road. Those chunks are not falling from above from alone. Most common South of Mulege and South of Loreto. No doubt that the earth is moving. My friends in Mulege reported several shocks last year.

Internet reporters!

You don't have to leave home to write news, or travel articles anymore! Just cobble together any tidbits that you find (or imagine), add some stock photos found online, and you are a "reporter"!

I have seen travel articles about places in Alaska that use stock photos that I recognize were taken many hundreds of miles away from the subject area!

Yeah, I saw that (except it's in Spanish on my version-- were you looking at an automatic translation or something?)

The point is, that photo had nothing to do with the actual event, how is that credible reporting?

good journalism on their part - the Spanish version has the remark as well

I believe CICESE has the (only?) local seismologists studying the Peninsula. They have a branch in La Paz, if you happen to be near there. I assume it's still active.

Yes CICESE came to our village and installed equipment....remember people here didnt believe me we were having quakes as they werent registering on any site. At town meetings they explained they were cluster quakes that were good so pressure was being released little by little instead of a big one. People camped outside their homes for months... the biggest quake we had was 6.3....a real teeth rattler! Town was evacuated after that by the military....many people went to stay with relatives in other towns and never came back. The stores couldnt keep anything on the shelves so merchandise was on the floor in crates. We were having temblores every few minutes some days which was quite maddening.

David,

If it’s Aliens, look for them on Isla Tortuga! Circled in blue offshore. The 3 virgins geothermal field is the onshore blue circle for reference.

The yellow circles are recent quakes. ( last 2 days)

Tortuga is a shield volcano! There have been a number of 3-4 range earthquakes in that area recently.

Activity on the Pacific Rim of Fire seems to be heating up! Boiled seafood anyone?
