BCS fishing license

BajaMama - 5-7-2021 at 08:38 AM

I am trying to get my Mexican fishing license using the BCS website. I get as far as payment and it uber fails. My travel club had same issues.

Anyone else having same issues? If this doesn't work, does anyone know where to get a license in Santa Rosalia?

If you’re driving down, stop in Ensenada across from the Corona Hotel at Tourist Services on the malecon. Or in San Quintin next to the Old Mill @ Pedro’s Pangas or maybe Tiburon.

Is a license purchased in BCN good anywhere in Baja, or do the two states have their own regulations?

It's good nationally.

Good tip but I'm driving down the 5 from Mexicali.

maybe you could get Bajazly to drive over to the SF marina and see if they're still available from the port captain's office?

They are working on getting the website working. For some reason the bank stopped taking non Mexican credit cards

That makes the most sense. I'll keep trying until I cross the border - getting excited, it has been two years. Getting ready for a lot of fish tacos and machaca breakfast burritos.

Since I am driving that way I can stop there :)

Not sure if this will help - but their website is not compatible with Internet Explorer and causes lots of issues.
Try using Google Chrome or Safari.
Hope this helps

If you don't get a license elsewhere, read a recent post off
fb San Felipe, which states they are available in San Felipe
in a bldg/complex called La Plazita. It's on Mar de Cortez Ave., (the street with curio shops) one blk. before the Malecon,
La Plazita is across the st.
on Mar de Cortez, from the bank. I haven't tested this info out
though

I've been successfully using this site for many years.

I've been using the BCS site for the past 8 years minimum but since I'm due for a renewal in 3 weeks, I gave this one a try and it worked great. I must have used this one in the past as my name and email were already registered on the site. Thanks Steve.

Tourist Services stopped handling fishing permits a lone time ago, sorry.

I use Safari on my MacBook Pro. I also tried Google Chrome. Someone mentioned that the bank the website uses stopped accepting foreign credit cards; that makes sense - I get as far as payment, then denied! I'll try the Captain's Port or the tourism office in San Felipe if the website continues to fail me.

SUCCESS I used the link provided by 55Steve - thank you. It worked best with Google Chrome from my MacBook Pro.

The municipality is Mexicali. Is the permit valid in BCS? I will be fishing in the Punta Chivato area.

boe4fun - 5-10-2021 at 06:34 PM

License is valid throughout Mexico, but not needed if fishing from shore, only while on the water. Also, if you’re fishing in a designated biosphere you may need to buy additional documentation from the govt. Maybe Rossman can fill you in with the necessary details.

I'll just be fishing in the Punta Chivato/Bahia Santa Inez area - no special designations. Glad the license is valid all over Mexico - here in the US it is by state.
