Cheapflights.com is quoting RT flights LAX - SJD as low as $215 and Ontario - SJD as low as $315!
SJD - LAX RT is a few dollars more!

there is a lot of up-selling going on with many air carriers. seat selection, carry on bag, checked bags, ticket change, catering ect..
just traveled SJD-OXA on aeromexico by the time i boarded the price had doubled....still cheap as chips.
