Back from Dust to Glory movie premier, and the event was a large success!
Dana Brown ?Scores? with a movie that will be around for many years, and has to be seen/ heard with a big screen and good sound system to really get
it?s impact.
Movie has some great quotes and insights by some of the all time Baja race personalities, including one from Bruce Myers talking about the US
government?s try in 1941 to build at road from TJ to the tip of Baja to help protect the West Coast from the Japanese. Bruce thinks if they had built
that road at the time, there may have never been the need to start racing the Baja 1000 from TJ to La Paz in the 60?s to the best time! Mexico wanted
to remain neutral in the war, and permission was denied (times have changed!).
The movie is about 65% motorcycle storyline, but comes across with a good pace with Dana Brown?s narration.
My take on the movie is that it will not bring more racers to SCORE, but will bring more curious people to Baja as tourist to see why these racers
are drawn to Baja and it?s back country. The racing footage is fantastic, and will put any avid race fan at the edge of his/ her seat.
Stay tune for a theater near you, and bring someone who needs to better understand one of Baja?s ?magical? events that touches so many people south
of the border.
